Video Essay Placing a Text in its Historical Context

5-10 minute video analysis connecting a central text from 1960s America to some aspect of its cultural context.

Source Requirement:

• Your intro should present your essay’s project by reference to some preliminary understanding, and if that understanding comes from a secondary source on the movie/novel, so much the better.
• In the body, you should make use of secondary sources and/or fragments of the past to define the cultural context. Aim to tell us something about the context that most people don’t already know—doing so will help make clear the special knowledge and/or insight that you’re bringing to bear on the movie.

Source citation: give a list of sources in description of your video.
