Assignment
Due by midnight Saturday evening.
Working in your groups, devise a short presentation with the aim of whetting your classmates’ interest in the topic your group covered in the written report. Your classmates should gain an improved understanding of the subject and a sense of why scholars think it a worthy topic of study.
- Five to ten minutes in duration
- Should make effective use of prezi or Powerpoint
- Should provide a solid grasp of the basic facts and social trends
- Should use specific instances to illustrate general trends
- Should employ a fair number of fragments from the past as illustrations and examples
- If using Prezi, make sure the presentation is set as “public”, or we won’t be able to view it
- If using Keynote, export as Powerpoint before uploading
- Paste the prezi’s url in the comments below or upload your Powerpoint
We will be doing presentations, 3 per class day, for the next 4 sections (Tuesday and Th/Fri). I will be posting the schedule for presentations on Sunday, Feb 16. So if you have any time constraint that would interfere with your presenting on one of those days, you need to let me know over email ASAP.
Finally, I’m looking for volunteers interested in presenting their topic twice—once for their home section and a second time for whichever section(s) don’t already have someone from your group. If you’re interested in doing this:
- Find out which section(s) doesn’t have anyone from your group by looking at the section letters listed for your topic on this page.
- Find out when that section(s) meets by looking at my class schedule here.
- email me and let me know what day/days of the week you can make it to that other section.
